"Total" by Isaac

"Total" for Illustration Friday
by Isaac, age 8

Guess the total number of squares that make up the mosaic... Yep! 201. This was Isaac's very cool and very ambitious concept for the theme of "Total".

First Isaac told me how big he wanted to make the picture, and Dad estimated how many squares would fill the space. Then Isaac set about building the numbers from the cut paper squares in our big Mosaic Box. When he was done, we found out Dad is really bad at estimating... Isaac had a lovely "201" made out of 151 squares. What to do? Make another row of blue squares around the outside of the image. And on the first try we hit 50 squares for a grand Total of 201!
