Woods

I've been picking up little free-flooring-sample-squares from Home Depot for the kids to paint on.  Isaac and Gracie decided to make a series of tree paintings on them.  I love the variety they've come up with!  Here are a few examples (you can click on any of them to get a closer look...)

Banjo Pigs

The kids and I have really enjoyed keeping tabs on the super blog Dueling Banjo Pigs where folks draw... um... dueling banjo pigs.
The K-Zids wanted in on the fun and worked up these pictures!

Sea Serpent Blue
by Isaac, age 11

It's been a long time since we've had a mosaic to post here.  Isaac's been building this guy off and on for over a year!  And now it's finally done.  He made this out of our big tub of cut magazine squares.

Jawa

Gracie sewed this stuffed Jawa a while back.  The inspiration came when she found the shiny gold buttons at a fabric store.  She bought them and then built the Jawa around them...

Carded

It's the 300th post on Chicken Nugget Lemon Tooty!  That means it's time to crack open our Family Trading Card Packs again and share some favorites...

It's been a while since we last mentioned our "Family Trading Cards."  It's a fun family activity we try to do on a regular basis.  Dad cuts up rectangle cards and hands them out.  Each person can fill their cards with whatever they want.  The cards get handed back to Dad, shuffled, and redispersed.  Then the trading begins!  Fevered bartering goes on in an attempt to snag the day's favorites.  Each of us has our own pack filled with 4 to 5 years worth of collected cards.

And since the last time I shared Trading Card highlights, Elijah has joined in on the fun!

Spring

We have a magnolia tree in our backyard, and for a brief 3-day window when it blooms each year, it's the most beautiful thing ever.  Earlier this week, the kids scooted outside with their paints to try to capture it before the petals started dropping...
