Elijah Joins In

While the other kids were gone last week, two year old Elijah took off drawing. And for the first time he's making identifiable things. He gets really excited as he runs up to tells us what the pictures are. Here's his first batch!

And here are some Sprites from Gracie:

Family Portrait Party: Isaac

A few weeks ago we devoted a whole evening to a Family Portrait Party! One by one, all seven of us took a turn posing in the middle of the room while the rest of the family circled around and drew the portraits. It was super fun! While none of the portraits are spot on, if you amalgamate them in your minds, a great likeness does jump out. The following seven posts are the results of that wonderful evening activity. We'll start off with Isaac:

In everyone's defense, Mom was the first one to pose for the Portrait Party... we were still warming up. Dad even threw out his original drawing and redid it later when all the kids were asleep. (Cheater!)

The kids have been doing a lot of pictures with cut paper lately. Love, love, love the action Lily captured in this simple figure...
